Where to Provide Care
Virtually everyone prefers to have care, when needed, at their own home. The level of care required will partially determine where you can provide that care. There are 4 basic levels of care facilities
The family caregiver will usually make every attempt to provide care-at-home. Sometimes this is done in order to maintain familiar surroundings. But more often it is done out of economic reality. The cost of a care facility can range anywhere from $2000 a month to $15,000 a month and more! Those who have not planned for this kind of significant cost often have a rude awakening.
In the ideal world, caregiving should be provided
1. where it is most effective in terms of personal comfort and prefence
2. where it can be provided by well trained and equiped individuals
3. where it does the least damage to health and well-being of the remainder family.
